This is not the first time I've written about our houseboat adventures on Rainy Lake, that first time was in 2020, that time when world stopped!! Our second houseboat adventure was last year during August and as I am writing this blog we are in the process of planning our third houseboat trip. I honestly cannot wait! There is something about the stillness and peace on this beautiful lake inside Voyageurs National Park that allows you to escape your everyday life and live in the moment with your family, friends and of course our fur babies.
We are renting our houseboat through Rainy Lake houseboats again, but this time we are getting one with air-conditioning. We had some pretty hot nights last summer and this little luxury should help us sleep a little better through the night!! We will stay for 3 nights and each night will be spent in a different bay and yes, we now have a few favorites that we will go back to! Last year we brought the dogs with us and I'm happy to say they will be joining us again. Meet Nyla and Oakley :-)

These two keep themselves pretty busy trying to catch fish, swimming and stealing bites of our walleye whenever they got the chance!

By the end of the day, they were both so tired they could hardly keep their eyes open.

Now, you might be wondering why we keep taking this same adventure?
I will answer this by having you picture yourself with your family and close friends (and maybe a fur baby or two) boating in the only inland water-based National park that borders Canada. Your alarm clock is a loon call. Your days are spent swimming, paddle boarding, fishing and hiking through Voyageurs National Park, that is Minnesota's only National Park. Fresh caught walleye is cooked over a fire every night for dinner. Evenings are spent sitting around that same fire talking and watching the most AMAZING sunsets. These are just a few things I could go on and on about but it's probably best for me to just show you what I'm talking about through these photos.

Below are photos of our rented houseboat. We had enough space to sleep all 8 of us. A few nights the boys set up their hammocks and slept out there zippered up and protected from the bugs! We got lucky and didn't get any rain, just sunshine and warm temperatures.
We're looking forward to making more memories through this awesome adventure!

See you soon Rainy Lake!
